Toshiba L300 - replaced inverter, LCD - still no back light!

Hi guys,

I'm having a odd issue with this laptop. Like thread title says, no back light.
I've replaced the screen and inverter and issue still persists.

I've been told by a friend sometimes Toshiba and Acer laptops get stuck this way when someone tries to replace the screen with battery still inserted. Dunno if it applies. Not sure this is the case, cuz i have no repair back ground story on this laptop. It was offered to me from a friends friend who simply left the laptop as dead in his house.

Any ideas?

are you getting images to the screen?
if not have you tried a external source?
it may be a bad ribbon cable
or a missing blon signal
check the voltages to the inverter
I have seen lappys go down when you fit new a screen with the battery still connected, but it seems to be the Led ones , the fuse opens on the M/B by the screen connector

yes, it works fine

I considered this but considering the image on the screen is fine, i highly doubt it. Also I've wiggled the cable a bit.

Have you tried replacing the back light it self ?

disconnect the lamp cable and put a smash screen there if you don`t got any light on your smash screen its the cable.
even if the cable its good you need schematics and see what voltage its missing.
i don`t really think its that.

Guys, I've tried 3 working screens on it. I'm sure that's not the issue.

I've tested the inverter for voltage and read 0V in every single entry pin.

I'm very skeptic to believe it's a cable issue, this would most likely affect the image itself. I need to read the board voltage for confirmation but can't do it today.

Tomorrow I'll post back.

I am shamed to say the issue was a loose connection on the board..

Fixed with some heat and tape.
