Had the above VAIO to repair recently. Title reference is the product name. There's also a model number: SVE151J13M.
Screen was damaged and needed replaced but also dark when powered on.
I located what appeared to be a fuse next to the four-pin power cable socket on the motherboard.
If you remove the rear base plastic of the laptop and have the battery compartment at the top of your desk/workbench you should see the white power socket and black screen cable socket underneath.
To the left of the display cable socket is a tiny capacitor and to the left of that is what I determined to be the fuse. It's three mm long, coloured tan, marked "N". There are markings on the motherboard "F4" and "1A". I've attached a diagram - my camera doesn't show the detail very well.
Removing this and replacing it with a solder blob got the screen lit again.
I'm currently attempting to source a replacement fuse, but the blob at least works as a temporary fix.
