I've got this laptop (HP motherboard part no 813969-501) and suspect a fuse has gone related to the backlight.
The screen is intact and has been tested on another machine.
Similarly, I've tried other screens known to be working, on this HP and all show up dark.
Have also replaced the screen cable, to no avail.
Just wondered if anyone else has had this issue on this model.

Acer ES1-511 (E15 series) not charging
Seems to be a few models in the above series exhibiting this issue, some not even a year old, from searches I've done.
Machine will power on if connected to mains, but will not from battery, even if sufficiently charged.
Anyone know of a common factor? Faulty mosfet(s)?

Sony Vaio SVE1513H1EB Screen fuse location
This information provided for reference only. Use at your own risk.
Had the above VAIO to repair recently. Title reference is the product name. There's also a model number: SVE151J13M.
Screen was damaged and needed replaced but also dark when powered on.
I located what appeared to be a fuse next to the four-pin power cable socket on the motherboard.
If you remove the rear base plastic of the laptop and have the battery compartment at the top of your desk/workbench you should see the white power socket and black screen cable socket underneath....Last edited by commandlinegamer; 08-22-2013, 07:23 AM.
