    Hello, i was very unlucky...

    (I write from tablet)

The my notebook hp g62 450 sl, does not turn after cortocircuit port usb.

When I connected the pendrive bad on usb lateral port, the notebook was still working, but overloaded and something and I started to smell and smoke, the pc does not shut down, it was working normally, but when it was turned off and turned on not more.

Then i disassembled and i watch component burned around port usb, my problem is, what's the component ? Where is the one new ?
The last trhee number of code on chip was 7f2...

(Sorry if i misspelled, write from tablet is uncomfortable, if there are mkssing details i add later, i am italian)

Component in photo. PLEASE HELP .

Here the pictures of the component bad...

Now I unsoldered that component in the picture and I did try turning on your pc, and the part near the attack power supply makes a little noise TIC TIC (as if something does not start) and the adjacent parts heat up a little, but the pc does not turn on. I want find the component you want and burned and re-welded..

U28 is the symbol in the schematic diagram. In the schematic (page 29) there are some IC Part No there, you can use it.

One example is this - http://tinyurl.com/l2ozzhs

if it is a 5v switch for usb, de-solder it. wire +5v from another always on switch.

So the chip that I've linked on ebay, should be fully compatible ..? (I did not see diagram) I saw that the feet of the larger 'original. Now I buy it and I will let you know if the PC will turn on again ...

                    Thanks very much

Thank you, but unfortunately I was unlucky, (for second time) while I was cleaning the contacts after removing the chip burned, the pond is not taking off and came off a leg from the motherboard, and now I do not know where to weld it ...

Yes came off the fourth pin in the upper right...

There another point where the motherboard solder this pin ?.. see on the diagram, i not found..

if that is so, then just follow spidey's advise,

or short PIN 2 to PIN 8 - this will provide a direct 5V supply to the USB port.

what is the pin 8? I do not have the diagram..

I then short the pin 2 and pin 8 of the motherboard..?

I have short pin 2 and pin 8, but when I connected the power supply another component is burned and the PC not boot, turn on and turn off, and overheated component board but not work...

It means there are other shorted components. You must find these shorted components before powering your laptop again.

Surely... The PC now turn on and off equal, also without short circuit of pin 2 and 8 of motherboard...
