    Acer Aspire 2920z problem

    good day experts,

my acer aspire 2920z laptop will freeze or auto shutdown when i plug the charger. but if i only use the battery, the operation runs smoothly but i can only use it for 5 to 10 minuntes (battery life).

i did some isolation troubleshooting. i suspected the charger output voltage and the MoBo (receiving voltage). i checked the charger and its ok with output voltage of 18 - 19V, matching the charger specification.

i also searched other forums that it might be the busted capacitor of Mobo. My problem is what capacitor in my acer aspire 2920z mobo should i replace and what alternative capacitor that i can buy in our local electronic shop for the replacement.

    thanks in advance.

Check if you can see a big capacitor under the cpu, it should be Nec/Tokin, or WR501. looking like this image

Hi iori69, have a look to the schematic attached, and tell us, if it is the right one.
