    Problem with Acer Aspire 5720

    Hallo,
    i have a Acer Aspire 5720 Model:ICL50 with Motherboard: mbahe0200, when i push the power button the laptop starts for 5-7 sec. and then turn off, in this time i have no picture in the screen. Did any one know somthing about this problem?

    It's probably the motherboard, that is a classic sign of a dead one. But you never know, try swapping out the RAM and see if it still does that

      I disasseble the laptop and i try to turn on only the motherboard with and without the display but nothing happens.

        Did you try swapping out the RAM or using a different power brick?

          I check with multimeter a few capacitors (on board) near CPU and RAM and there was sort circuit but i am not sure. Tomorow i will take them out of board and i will check them.
          If any one know somthing more to do i will be greatfull.

            I try without the ram and i use the same power brick to another laptop and seems to be OK.

              I have fix 4 or five of them..It is a classic symptom of bad soldering on northbridge chip.
              It is the big bga chip right next to the CPU,they share the same pipeline.
              You can be sure if you press the on button and at the same time you apply pressure(rather hard) on it..
              You have to reflow or better reball to fix it.

                Last night i try to do what Joun suggest me but the laptop do nothing except the power led flashing when i push the power button.
