Acer Aspire 5732Z dead

I got acer aspire 5732Z its dead i have checked dc power jack its fine and some of the mosfet have voltages, power button has voltages but i dont know why its not getting on even not showning battery charge light

Are the 3 and 5v present? What happens with the power button voltages when you press it?

it goes to zero when i press it. otherwise it shows voltages.

hi,

like mr ablacon64 said, you're going to have to determine if the stand-by 5V & 3V are there. if they are, then go on to check for the 1.8V standby possibly generated from the buck converter in a TPS51116 pwm power chip (for acer). check the common output line of the hi & lo power fets controlled by the 51116. i'm dealing with one of these right now [an acer 4530] where the lower mosfet surface looks 'bubbled / over-heated' & it's missing the 1.8V 'always on' source. the 'power good' input to the 51116 appears correct but there might be something else required to get it to kick over or the fet is simply not responding to it's input. maybe someone that has dealt with a 51116 before can provide some testing tips? - i'm going through the chip pdf but i may just start with the fet replacement since the visual indicates that it possibly got very unhappy at some point earlier. the fet is not the 'normal' ic package so i haven't looked it up yet. the end user described this problem as sudden or 'sudden death'... nothing apparently leading up to it... just shut it off one moment, no power on the next. it does appears to read & charge the battery correctly via the front edge led so the isl6251 charger ic appears healthy. 5V & 3V stand-by are good also. might be similar to your problem.

correction.. "'power good' input to the 51116" ..

should read 'output' .. this chip monitors itself.. i believe mine measured Low, which is then a problem indication here..
