    Adapter Blinking When Plug In

    Hi,

I have Acer Aspire 5584 Intel processor with Nvidia GPU. Now I can't turn ON the power. I try tu put a battery with full charges but still can't turn it ON. I take out a battery and plug in a adapter but I see LED on adapter was blinking continuesly until i unplug. After unplug the adapter, LED was stay light in bright. I have tried with 2 other adapter but still blinking when i plug in to laptop. I also already tried to change with other power board but still same happen.

Have anyone can help me to solve this problem?

blinking power LED on the power brick means there's a short in the laptop circuitry somewhere..

Check MOSFETs for shorts. I've also seen laptop shorts caused by spills, paper clips, staples, and one case a large quantity of glitter.

You may have a shorted capacitor somewhere on the mainboard. Usually it gets hot, kinda easy to find.

You can't be certain. Use multi-meter to check that there's no shorts. Learn to do electronics if you really like to fix stuff. I just repaired a spilled D600 motherboard by washing and searching for short (seller particularly mentioned that) then found a MOSFET and replaced that. That allowed me to do repaired motherboard into D600 that I dropped and this damaged PCMCIA cage, and it had bad ethernet chip that crashes XP if enabled prior to drop. Now functional 100% and is going to be given to my friend. All I need is battery.

              Cheers, Wizard

Bad Cap. check C467 or C468 underneath the CPU fan assy.
