Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi 2550, it's a friend's girlfriend's laptop and she wants to play sims3 on it. Arrived here because the bloke who installed XP for her had no idea how to install the video driver. Why don't people upgrade to 7 i dunno.
Video is ATI HD2400 XT. Quite a capable GPU. CPU is C2D T5550 1.83 gig. And it's a 85C tjunction chip (!!!). Needless to say, CPU throttling kicks in all the time and the machine runs like ass. GPU is at 96C under FurMark. Last warranty repair damaged the keyboard so that T and Y also press 5 and 6 and vice versa. Quite annoying to chat on as you could imagine.
I give it 4 months before it burns out, sims3 can be quite demanding. And it's out of warranty too. More $$$ for me in that case. But seriously, whoever designed this is an idiot. A blazing hot GPU paired with a 85C tjunction CPU, and a cooler that makes some noise but for some reason i can't feel much air going out. Great job Fujitsu. They're starting to resemble Acer for some reason.
Edit: GPU has reached 99C and CoreTemp now displays 87C (!)(?) for Core 0. Running past Tjunction at minimum clock and voltage. Awesome.
Edit 2: Wooo i killed it! It shut down. A bit too late tho. It needed to be left alone for a minute before it would power up again. Fujitsu gets my appreciation for at least installing a protection.
