you can't. the BIOS passwords on a laptop cannot be reset. it is a security/theft thing... you would have to desolder and reprogram the bios chip (good luck) or buy a new mainboard.

you could always guess the password... again, good luck.

Yes, they can. My friend did it with his laptop. He had to use an adapter which connected to the parallel port. (basically it was just a plug with a board in it that shorted some pins to some other pins, but it worked fine)

If nothing else you could probably always replace the BIOS chip or something. But that would be rather hard for most laptops use SMD chips with a lot of pins.

The problem with this kind of question is that a lot of the time when people want to remove the password, it's because the laptop is stolen.

i had alway know it was deliberate to remove any reset capabilities of a bios password reset. it was made to prevent data theft... there may be a few that are resettable, bit in general you cannot do such a thing.

I know IBM (Lenovo) can be reset with a special program.
A friend of mine bought a used notebook and needed this done.
Tech support said, "no, it can't be done, buy a new motherboard for $$$". but a third party company in Toronto did it for a small fee. I have to believe that most other computer manufacturers have the capability, but don't always admit it.

It can almost always be done...but not many people know how to do it, and those that do aren't talking. I know how to reset a few models...but none of the ones listed here. Some older ones can be reset with software, but most require it to be done at the hardware level. It's a highly individualized process, and each model is rather different. Also, manufacturers don't want you do to it for obvious reasons. So hoping for a universal guide or something like that is just unrealistic. Sorry, this post was more informational than helpful.
