Check the usual 2*Dcin mosfets that are between the power adapter and the charger IC. Check the voltage to ground of each pin of these mosfets.
source (1-2-3)
gate (4)
drain (5-6-7-8)
post each measurement.Leave a comment:

Re: acer nitro 5 not working on battery mode
1) must be N-channel type
2) source drain voltage should be 30v or higher
3) physically the same size as the original
4) be able to support high current so look for a low resistance on Rds value
Donor boards are an option of alternative parts.
Here is someone selling out of Manila but is expensive:

Thnks really appreciate the helpLeave a comment:

Re: acer nitro 5 not working on battery mode
Hey. Recently returned from Davao. Always wanted to go zip lining - got a chance to do this at Eden Park. Wife was not happy.
Review the sticky above by @Piernov on chargers. Respectively inspect the first 2 dcin mosfets that follow the power adapter connector. Often these mosfets will become defective. Remove all power. Meter in resistance mode. Check the resistance across :
Source & drain
Source & gate
Gate & drain
A low resistance means the mosfet is leaky and needs to be replaced.Leave a comment:

Highly Integrated Narrow VDC Battery Charger for Notebook Computers
The ISL6257HRZ ISL6257HRZ-T is a highly integrated battery charger controller
for Li-Ion/Li-Ion polymer batteries. ISL6257 is designed for
Narrow VDC applications where the system power source is
either the battery pack or the regulated output of the charger.
This makes the max voltage to the system equal to the max
battery voltage instead of the max adapter voltage. Operating
at lower system voltage can improve...-

by aico60Hello everyone,
I am working on an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-46, board HH51R LA-M002P Rev: 1A with an AMD CPU and Insyde Bios rev 5.
Short issue description: BIOS does not recognize any of the DMI data.
History of the laptop:
The seller of the laptop said that it shut down during a BIOS update.
I bought in in a condition where it turned on but did not post.
While waiting for my RT809F to arrive, I tried to perform a Crisis recovery, which messed up the EC firmware, so... the laptop stopped even turning on. Power and Charging LEDs didn't work either...-

by flat-eartherI have an RC radio handset(Taranis QX7) which doesn't have internal battery charger which means I had to remove the battery every time I needed to charge it.
So to improve it, I added a 15W USB-C charger board(link) inside and soldered it to the same connector on the PCB where the battery plugs into, great, now I can simply charge it with a USB-C cable.
but the problem I found is that after the radio sat for two weeks without being used the 2S 18650 battery that I'm using was at 4.2V!
So the battery is backfeeding the charger and being drained.
How can I prevent... -
