    Pictures of the exposed areas from before cleaning and after cleaning please, to start with.

    At this point we don't know anything about the board except the VCC Core is missing and only 0.3 volt at the RAM supply(?). Also no resistance measurements shared to get the clue. Add these please.

      Thanks for the reply.
      the resistor connected to
      The p_DDR_EN_10 was bad.
      In stalled new 620kohm resistor and all voltages
      Are back.
      But theres no video.
      I worked on the same model last week and there sound as well when it post the splash screen wich is missing as well.

            No, I have all power rails but no picture.
            I'm still looking for the problem.
            All water damage was on the back of the board, there was a lot of damage

              It seems the memory module that came with laptop is faulty.
              I changed it and it starts up with splash screen sound.
              But the other issue is the screen is also cracked.
              The backlight is on but there's no way to see q picture.
              I can't seem to get anything on the hdmi port.
              When disconnect the display and restart the post sound disappears.

                Found another screen and its up and running!
                Had to change the power management chip,2 resistors and one bad cap.
                I'm amazed, that's all the problems there was.
                That's the most water damage iv ever came across.

                  Asus Z490-F not starting/missing Vcore
                  by brusli009
                  I have an Asus Z490-F Gaming mobo, flashed it to the latest bios with the flashback. I have tried both a i5 10400 and a I3 10105F and none of them get even warm.

                  When 24pin is connected the rgb lights up, also the cpu power led(near 8 pin) turns on red and when that is connected it turns off the led. When the power button is pressed the psu fan spins and i get 12v at the inductor and caps near the 12v power.
                  The board has debug leds but none of them light up, neither with cpu installed or not nor with ram.
                  From what i can fell and see the board dosent get hot near any...

                  With ASUS, not everything is quite so simple. I will show you my way. It may be longer or harder but it is the right way to do it in my humble opinion.

                  For example, you can have 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all being the same model, all of which will have different BIOS versions.

                  I will give you an example and my version of preparing BIOS from ASUS website and in the process I am always cleaning Intel ME while doing it so you have fully cleaned BIOS, no DMI data, no password, nothing.

                  This is the picture of 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all of them being X555LD...

                  Z170 Pro Gaming missing Vcore after cleaning
                  by brusli009
                  I bought it used and was filled with dust, but was working fine, took the heatsinks off and gave it a quick clean with ipa and a soft brush.
                  The next day it starts but the vcore is missing, also the qled dont light up, from what ive seen on the boardview (posted on the forum) i think im missing the vcore enable, but not sure. Also if the 8pin cpu is removed when the board is started,it dosent do anything, feels like the board dosent know that its connected.
                  Maybe someone has some ideeas or something.

                  Surface pro 5 (Model 1726) missing 3.3V power rail
                  by noflux
                  Hello All

                  Have a Surface pro 5. Main board model; M1007506-015. Main 15v power rail is present.

                  1st image;
                  Missing 8v rail at inductor (circled in blue). Suspect main cause is power is being drawn at dead short on C4517.

                  2nd image;
                  3.3v rail was measured at 0.17v (at top most capacitor with red cross in 1st image).

                  Capactors crossed out in red are shorted.

                  Are the 5v and 3.3V rails tied in somehow e.g. generated at a single IC?

                  2nd and 3rd image;
                  C4517 circled in red is shorted at pin...

                  Asus GTX 970 Turbo No Picture
                  by krsta
                  So, where to start.

                  I bought EVGA GTX 970 and Asus GTX 970 Turbo for 30 Euros total (warranty stickers were untouched).

                  The EVGA one has a short on 12V external power rail on high side mosfet of the Vcore, ordered low, high side ones and mosfet driver just in case because it takes 20-30 days for it to come from China. When they arrive ill post the result.

                  The Asus one is pain in the ass.
