Need help with msi laptop rtx 3080 code 43
Bought an Msi laptop with rtx 3080.
when i got home and turned it on the card has code 43.
seller wont respond so I'm forced to try and fix it.
i did some probing around and there's no shorts on the memory rail, samsung memory at 37 ohms which seems good for samsung memory.
the problem is I'm new to mats/mods.
I'm looking for help on what version and command's i need to run it as a secondary card on the laptop.
could anyone give me some guidance.

Found another screen and its up and running!
Had to change the power management chip,2 resistors and one bad cap.
I'm amazed, that's all the problems there was.

It seems the memory module that came with laptop is faulty.
I changed it and it starts up with splash screen sound.
But the other issue is the screen is also cracked.
The backlight is on but there's no way to see q picture.
I can't seem to get anything on the hdmi port.

The p_DDR_EN_10 was bad.
In stalled new 620kohm resistor and all voltages
Are back.
But theres no video.

Laptop came with water damage.
Board was cleaned and I did find any damage or shorts.
Power rails I have.
19v rail
3v rail
5 rail
1v pch
293 mv on memory
0v on vcore
1.8 v
0.812 ov gpu vcore
1.3v on vmem
I have a boardview for this board but kind if new with reading scamatics .
Would buddy have any idea where I need to be looking.
I appreciate any help I can get.

Sure there must be some way to disable a chip by moding the bios/ firmware.

I have an Evga 1080 for repair.
There was a short on the 12v and a burn hole in the bottom stage of the vcore.
I cleaned it out and the short is gone.
Iv checked all the resistance on the minor rails and there good.
Voltages are.
12v
3.3v
5v
1.8v
Vcore 0v
Vmem 1.3v
Pex 16mv
I thought you need to have vcore or pex before vmem would turn on so it leaves me a bit confused.
Iv looked at the vcore ic NCP81274 and I get
Enable 1.8v low?
Vcc 5v
Vref 2v
Pgood 0v

After hours chasing the 12 volt logics and finding nothing out of the ordinary I did a gpu reflow and its now reading the 12v power cable and passed all the stress tests.

I'll be diving back 8n tomorrow.
I was thinking when i received this card it was with out the ram chips and the gpu Cristal was cracked in half.
I was looking on line at pictures of the pcb I used, the zotac 1070 mini and it looks like it came with Micron D9TXS ram chips.
I pulled the 1070 die and ram chips from a pny 1070 the used micron D9TCB.
the 2 chips are both the same make micron/DDR5 and the pin layout for both chips...Leave a comment:

Iv changed ot the shunt resistors still with same problem.
Iv been looking at the- power level psi control-on a gtx 1080 scamatics as I can find anything for this card.
I'm still trying understand how it senses the 8 pin power conector.
Iv chased through the logics on this but seems to stand out.

Iv tried 3 other motherboards no luck.
I shortedot theses pins one at a time
1 -2 11-12 14-15 and no change.
Im looking at the sense components but I have nothing to reference from.
Iv chased it back to pin 4 VS on the 3221 chip.
I'm still confused on how this works as I can not
Read any voltage coming from the sense

It's an 8 pin conector 6 won't work
I've used 2 other power supply

Need help with zotac 1070 mini
Not recognizing the 8 pin power adapter.
Iv received this card with a cracked Cristal
And missing ram and mosfets/ bios chip.
I had a nother card with a crack in the pcb but good Cristal and chips.
I replaced all chips and Cristal
All my voltiges are there.
The card will post with an error that it's not detecting the power adapter.
I installed new bios chip an flashed it with the 3 bios files I found.
Still the same thing.
Theres no blown fuses and the power from the 8 pin goes to this chip ina3221
