Laptop model: Dell Alienware M15 R4 S/T: 346w5j3
Motherboard model: LA-K741P REV 1.0
Problem description:
Turns on with error code on the LED light: 2 Red. 7 Blue. Indicating Display Failure.
Following attempts are made at repairing:
1. Replace LVDS cable
2. Replace LVDS connector on motherboard, 3 times.
3. Replace LCD screen with same 300Hz version + 240Hz version
4. Power on with battery alone or DC jack
5. Checked Voltages on the LVDS connector with and without screen connected, it was pretty much the same.
6. BIOS updated completed
Observations:
If HDMI is plugged for external display, laptop boots fine without an error code.
Holding D while booting shows LCD colours and LCD testing.
I have throughly checked for burns or damaged components, it looks good.
