Faulty HP ZBook 15 G2 Strange keyboard issue?

    Hi legends,

My ZBook laptop keyboard had a few failed keys so I presumed a keyboard replacement was in order.

Order a new keyboard and exact same keys are non functional.

Examined motherboard under microscope no damage from liquids or shorts etc?

Could this be related the the KBC

    ANY help appreciated

Which keys are failed? Check resistance to ground at ALL keyboard connector pins.

You actually don't need to know the good value, just need to find different resistance and check that lines up to the EC.

820-02020 Super Weird Issue: Keyboard Input Character Map "Wrong"?
          by ugamazing
So, I have a really bizarre issue that I'm struggling to identify the cause of. Working on an 820-02020 board with some bizarre keyboard/input-source character mapping. My suspicion is a possible damaged SPI ROM (U1970), perhaps, but I'm really not sure in this case:

          1. The issue is pretty weird, but when installing MacOS, I noticed my WiFi password did not work. I quickly realized the special characters (!@#$%^& etc) were not mapping correctly.

          2. I noticed the keyboard layout/input-source is defaulting to JAPANESE every single time I restore the board. I am not...

Dell G15 5515 RGB Keyboard Not Detected (Compatible Keyboard, Possible BIOS/EC Issue?)
          by NotEnough
          Hi everyone,

I'm working on a Dell G15 5515 (Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3050 Ti) and recently installed a compatible 4-zone RGB keyboard and controller (for Dell G15 5510/5511/5515 models). While the keyboard functions for typing, the RGB lighting is not detected by Alienware Command Center (AWCC), which displays “No AlienFX devices found.”

          What I've Tried So Far:
          • Reseated the cables.
          • Reinstalled AWCC and AlienFX services.
          • Attempted BIOS downgrade but no improvement.
          • Inspected ribbon cables for damage.
