    Sony vaio vpcy2 mbx-229

hello can anyone help me? I have this motherboard and it won't start. The 3 volts are not reaching the power button. There was a blown capacitor ec118 and I removed it. With the tester I noticed that there is a short. i tried to inject a voltage of 3 volts and i see that it heats up the processor via thermal imager. Could that be the problem?

Yes where did you inject voltage normal nothing must heat up the cpu. Which die the small or big one.

Hi, you should never inject 3 volts you should try to use maximum 1 volt

is it the cpu packaged with the pch ? can you see two squares on cpu? if yes which one is getting hot ?

the cpu is soldered to the motherboard and has two squares. I think they heat the same. Perhaps the larger square heats up more
