    Asus C423N motherboard - trying to identify diode

    Hello,

    Can anyone point me in the right direction as I am trying to identify which diode this is as in the red square.

    ESD protection diode on USB-C data lines. Probably something like AZ5B8S-01F

      Thank you Sephir0th! That is exactly where they are situated, I found 2 of them shorted is that usual?

        It is simply because a USB-C port from where you can charge and also plug in almost any Peripheral you can think of is a big nightmare. Failures like that are pre-programmed if the owner is not careful with plugging things into this jack.

          Oh, ok, but this is the charging port also, so does it have the same issues? Or worse?

              Those protection diodes come in a few voltages, i.e. 3.3V, 5V, 7V, 12V...what do you think is the voltage I should get? Tks!
