macbook pro A1706 820-00239-09 no boot

    macbook pro A1706

    BOARD 1: 820-00239-09 = 20v 0.125a usbc

    BOARD 2: 820-00239-A = 20v 0.016a usbc

i have both these boards and they do not power up

    on board 2 i have a short on c8006 pp1v0_sus 0.03ohm to ground

    board 1 i have 1v on c8006

im new to macbook board repair so please be patient with me

could someone help me with which power rails to follow and what order do they turn on

ive been messing around with open board view and a schematic i found on this forum but im stumped

    thanks

You have 20V being negotiated which is a good start and confirms that the CD321x TI ACE controllers are functioning correctly.

Review the voltage to ground of PPBUS_G3H. Measure (carefully) on each side fuse F7000.

sorry for long post ...... i thaught i might aswell measure them all

      board 2 = 13.09v on both sides of F7000
board 2 i think i will make a new thread

could u7210 & u7220 be faulty?? or cpu dead??

according to all those readings it should boot up???

          Looking under thermal camera

A section of the cpu gets hot around 40c so im guessing if the cpu rails were shorted to ground by a cap cpu wouldn’t b getting power to heat up

I think cpu is fried internally and shorting thats why cpu rail gets pulled to 0.0057mv
          140ma draw on usb

If anyone has any ideas or thinks it’s something else then please say otherwise boards going on spares pile

Now going to test BOARD 2 see if that 1 i can fix
