Bluetooth Is Not Available on this Device

Hi everyone, after flashing the bios with the correct files, finally my Toshiba P855-34k laptop started working again but Windows 10 claims that Bluetooth is not available in my device but the wifi works fine.

I also installed Windows 8.1 with Virtualbox but the problem remains.

The network card Intel Centrino includes both Wifi and Bluetooth, it is

    https://www.intel.it/content/www/it/...fications.html

I tried with another same card but it doesn't solve. I tried to install a bluetooth driver but couldn't find the original one because the laptop is discontinued. I also checked the 2 mosfets QM1A and QM1B that manage the BT_Control and they are not shorted and work normally.

    Any suggestions ? Thx

Toshiba had a hotkey driver AFAIK. Put the original wifi/bt card back in and snoop around the Toshiba website for the ORIGINAL drivers for it, and also Toshiba Hotkey driver or something to that tune. Then come back and report results.

Thanks, unfortunately i already did those searches and after Toshiba switched to Dynabook, they replied that they no longer deal with Satellite olds models and I find it absurd that by searching for drivers and entering the serial number of my laptop, this is no longer recognized .

Perhaps only possibility could be to have it from some other user otherwise I have to keep the laptop which works at 50%.

          Edit;
I will also try hotkey driver but i think I've seen it installed. Thx

I remember there were a specific driver from Toshiba , made for cards that include both wireless and Bluetooth on the same card design . This driver , should be installed prior to installing wireless then bluetooth driver . Failing to do this devider driver first will confuse almost everything .

I don't know which file you're referring to but every time I've installed Windows it has never required user intervention.

If you were installing the operating system from its original DVDs Operation's system or from its recovery hidden partition , e.g , an automatic installation , the installer would do the drivers separation automatically .

Maybe it's your case , maybe not , but anyway , if you want , give me your full model number and serial , so I can check for sure .

Re: Bluetooth Is Not Available on this Device

Unfortunately, after replacing the hard disk and reprogramming the bios, I have neither the recovery partition nor the product key. I installed a version of Windows 10 taken from the Microsoft site which perhaps recognized the machine and didn't ask me to enter any product key.

Anyway, below the data of my laptop.

                  Serial number: 5D063411K
                  Model: Satellite P855-34k
                  Part no. PSPKFE-075032IT
                  Thx

Re: Bluetooth Is Not Available on this Device

I checked for Toshiba PSPKFE Series , and yes , this one has a separator driver , which should be installed first and its official name is : Bluetooth Filter Driver Package
                      "bfdp-20120521105246.zip"

Its size is approx. 75 mb so you'll have to download it from a trusted site . You know , Toshiba support for previous models stopped .Some sites would offer it in return of ads , services or could be worse .
So you have to be carefull . And whatever you do , avoid services that install automatic setups in your system

Next and , First of all , you'll need a clean install of the operating system , and after you install this filter , you'll have to download another driver called "Bluetooth Stack" (some 40 mb ) , and finally , install the wireless Lan driver .

If you intend on installing W10 , it would be more difficult , due to the forced automatic drivers updates .

Re: Bluetooth Is Not Available on this Device

                        I'll try later, thanks.

In the meantime I have found that Bluetooth is activated, which until yesterday it didn't even appear, but despite this Windows says that the device does not have Bluetooth.

In all cases, on the Dynabook site I found Bluestack about 80MB and Bluetooth Filter about 60MB. While "bfdp-20120521105246.zip" on the Dynabook site I have not found it and in other sites but it does not exceed 30 MB.

                        Thanks again

Re: Bluetooth Is Not Available on this Device

Perfect, now the Bluetooth works and also the exchange of files between laptop and phone works well after pairing, the BT is also present in the Device Manager ( RFBUS,RFCOMM,RFHID,BT 4.0 Module...maybe too many things ?). Thank you !

BUT... there is one thing I don't understand, in the PC Settings the Bluetooth is not active and you don't see the associated devices, for example the phone and even if I ask to add a BT device, for example the BT headset held turned on, it replies that can't connect to anything and as a solution it recommends either activating the BT or updating the drivers via Windows Update.

Re: Bluetooth Is Not Available on this Device

Permanently solved Bluetooth problem. I write what I did, maybe it could be useful as a starting point for someone who has driver problems.

I found that in PC Settings-Update and Security-> Windows Update->View all optional updates-> Driver updates, there is a list of drivers that can be updated, including the one related to Bluetooth, so I did the system restore to a week ago and I installed the bluetooth driver from Windows Update. Wow ! the bluetooth icon popped up in the system tray menu near the clock, it was also turned on under Devices (Bluetooth, Printers, Mouse).

                                  That's all. thx

Glad to see your problem solved .. Frankly , Sometimes Microsoft did actually communicate with me , asking me how I solved another specific problem similar to this one , and consequently , they started recommending it . Next , they applied it in the windows updates .
They do cooperate in those matters when someone is willing to give them feedbacks .

                                    Good luck and welcome .

Re: Bluetooth Is Not Available on this Device

I can say that thanks to you and this forum I resurrected the laptop, first flashing the correct bios and then fixing the bluetooth even if on this laptop I have 2 other problems to solve:

the Touchpad not detected, which I can also do without, the second problem is that after some time the laptop has been running, the Power led goes off, the battery charger is excluded, the gates of the two initial mosfets have 0V and the 19V do not go through so the laptop only works on battery power.

However when I close the cover to turn off the laptop, the charger starts working again and charges the battery, in fact the Power LED turns on in amber colour. Maybe for this strange behavior I open a new thread, it could be the charger BQ24725RGRR.
