HP 14-dq1004la sometimes it gives video sometimes it doesn't

Greetings, I need help with this laptop that sometimes does not give video and shows me an error in caps lock 5 long 3 short. There are 2 coils that overheat. I can't find schematic or boardview.

Yes, i too faced this on this very mb. Those two coils are for vcore and voltage was exact 1.8V and heating like hell. The solution is equally weird-Just replace thse two coils with same rating from another scrap board and it doesnt heat any more.

In older HP models , Those coils had cooling pads and sometimes included within the fan heat-sink system . No wonder the lot of problems in newer models , lol .

Yes, replace coils. I have never had this problem on a GPU VRM but I have seen it on water damaged battery charging circuit on Acer.

Perhaps the coil are marked R15 on this motherboard. faced another dell hellcat mb with very same issue(Coil are marked R15). However, problem was not solved by replacing with coil of same value-still heating like hell even though fan was spinning. replaced both vcore coils with higher rating (R24) and that solved the overheating issue. fan now spins occassionally and system is cool. This problem is very coomon on 10th gen onwards.
