Hi All,
I recently got a bunch of faulty/partially faulty PS3s and wanted to get some advise on them. Models are:
X4 are PS3 slims with disc drive errors.
X1 is a PS3 slim with the 8002F1F9 update error.
X1 is a ps3 slim with no display.
X1 is a slim with RLOD
X1 is a super slim with a missing disc drive and receiving the same update error 8002F1F9 (I'm assuming because it needs it's drive)?
X1 is another super slim with no power (board number MPX-001).
Does anyone know of any good resources that list parts interchangeability? I know places like the ps3 dev wiki and others list part numbers, but I have not been able to find anyone listing what part numbers work with what consoles.
For example the no power, what PSU models can I put in it to rule out a bad PSU? (I have now found the other super slim PSU is the same model so have ruled that out but point still stands.)
Disc drives I believe are paired to the board, is there any software that allows you to repair another donor drive? The super slim for example is missing it's drive so is it a paperweight now?
I've got the leaked service manuals, is there anything else available? Like boardviews? Or power sequence diagrams for the slims and super slims? Or a screenshot labeling all the rails? I found one for the phat consoles but nothing for the slim/super slim.
he no power super slim seems to have a short next to the WIFI module.
For the PS3 slim RLOD I'm pretty sure it is a corrupted OS how could I confirm that? When it first came in it worked fine. Turned on and off several times, installed GTAV which took several hours and froze at roughly 60%.
I left it overnight unsure whether it was actually frozen or not as I only have a DS4 and therefore PS button does not work. Came in the next day to see it on a blinking red light and now it wont turn back on. I was able to get it into safe mode and am waiting for my DS3 delivery so I can reinstall the OS.
For the no display slim the HDMI port looks fine. I have not taken it apart yet though (focusing on the no power), do PS3s have HDMI retimer chips?
Thanks for your assistance.
