Would this work on a ThinkCentre M700 Tiny model number: A01PJP?
I bought this machine off Yahoo Auctions, the seller sold it as a "working machine which you can use immediately", which turned out to be a lie.
They also state that they will provide support for 1 week after purchase, but only if the system doesn't work, which also turned out to be a lie, because they refuse to reply for half a week now.

When I looked up their business address on Google Maps, so I know how to get there in person, users were posting reviews from which it gets really clear that the person is a scammer, uses customer addresses to threaten them, and is generally a rather dangerous individual, so I decided to fix this thing myself instead.
I tried taking out RAM, confirmed I got beeps, meaning that at least it's repairable.
Put in different RAM modules, still black screen.
Put in a different CPU, still black screen.
I know the RAM and CPU aren't the problem, because I put them into another mini PC that supports the same CPU and RAM, and it works there without issues.

So I'm left with the BIOS.
Tried to clear CMOS, didn't work.
I didn't try to take out the BIOS battery yet, because no idea how do to that.
Edit: just figured it out, took out the BIOS battery, but still not fixed.
So I signed up to this forum so I can download this firmware, and see if that would fix it, but can anyone tell me how to flash this firmware to the BIOS chip?
Preferably instructions I can do from Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, or NetBSD, since that's what I'm using.

Edit: turned out the computer was working fine, just the VGA port doesn't seem to work.Last edited by minmi; 06-29-2024, 12:24 AM.Comment

HI ALL can you help us to find original bios bin for this model board model name IH11M0S VER 1.0 IT is lenovo thinkcentre m700 big cpu serial number PC0CSH4A

history .... this unit is good working on both grahics display port built in display on board and in extended 1gb pcie video card
MY PROBLEM NOW,, is when i update bios from lenovo website windows OS installer after finishing flashing on windows then system automatically restart
UNIT comes in to no display on my videocard 1gb PCIE just a simple behavior of screen shows on with display but no character
THERE IS A display on built in display on motherboard working fine
i try my video card on other cpu my 1gb videocard is good
i try new power supply, new ram,, new videocard,, i clean pcie port but STill no output on pcie slot,,

MY reason why i flash the bios is there is password,,, my mind come that the best fast way is to flash it by bios from lenovo website

Note:! after flashing bios and windows restart i notice that there is only cursor display on my screen like something looking for bootable device,, then unit restart again and comes to no display the cursor doesnt show and no character at all on screeen but lcd behavior shows there is good display

i remove pcie 1gb video card then put on built in display it is working fine there...

 Maybe my bios is bad,,,

i attached the bin file below

I have 6 Lenovo M700 machines that were bought at auction and appear to have been used in a photo printing kiosk environment (judging by how many other people's photos I deleted and the general software on the systems.

I had to use the storage from these for a server migration, but I am now trying to get them ready to sell again, and in doing so I have discovered that 5 of the 6 have passwords on the BIOS.

I have tried every trick that I could, and have eventually resorted to getting a CH341A programmer. I have managed to get the BIOS off each device, but before I just go an put the BIOS from the unlocked machine onto the others - will doing so destroy the Windows Key/serial number on each of these? i.e. to Windows/Lenovo will each system functionally be the same as the "donor" machine?

If so, is there any way to just remove the password lock from the BIOS directly?Comment

post the contents of the bios chip even if it is corrupted..

to avoid losing DMI information, remove each bios separately and delete the password...

The bios chip must be unsoldered from the board before writing or reading..
do not use the clip, you may have errors..if you do not have anything to unsolder it with,
solder wires between the programmer and the bios chip..

here is a video for example..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWWi...l=ThisIsHowDue to a lack of donations, server free space at a critical level, and possible closure of Bios Requests all donations are welcome, click:

I considered it, but I had a more general question, rather than just asking for a clean BIOS to be provided, hence creating a new post. I may have created it in the wrong subforum?Originally posted by pestepost merged..next time look for a thread with the name and model, motherboard model of the laptop, and post there, if you can't find it, then make a new thread.

I don't have any soldering equipment or experience - I'm more comfortable taking the risk using the clip than I am removing 6 motherboards from microPC cases to desolder the chips., or trying to solder on individual wires.

I just want to understand if I can either use the BIOS from the unlocked machine, or use a tool like this one to remove the passwords without risking the serial numbers/windows keysComment

peste asked you to post S/N, full name and model, motherboard model, TYPE,etc. Did you check in the hardware maintenance manual to see if there is a password jumper on the motherboard ?

After initially attempting to read and verify the files without success using the CH341A programmer ver 134, I was able to successfully read the BIOSes using the "CH341A v 1.31 free" tool, which appears to be a bit simpler but worked. Each BIOS file was read, verified, and saved twice (closing the program and unclipping the reader between each), and then the two saved files were compared to each other and confirmed identical.

I have uploaded the BIOSes here, as numerous attempts to upload them as attachements to this post (directly, with no file extension, as *.jpg) failed due to permission issues. https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...usp=drive_linkComment
