From what i read both of these units use the same BIOS. Upgrading from version 1A to B0 resulted in a continuous beep until power is removed.

Sounds like a bad flash , ( pun intended )
Reprogram the removable eprom in a external programmer or try to find a donor
This machine looks nice but is badly affected by bad caps due to too much heat through insufficient cooling
I`m Trying to upgrade to a 45 nm E5700 , hope the old bios from 2007 accepts this "new" 2010 proccessorComment

a1 can be upgraded to a2 and so on b0 to b1, b2.... wrong flash
try one of those from ftp backup site
