    Reviving a Intel NUC8i5BEH - Boardview request

    Hi,

I've got an Intel NUC8i5BEH which doesn't turn on.
On the mainboard there is a little LED "SATA_PWR STBY" which is on as soon as the power is plugged in.
    • But when I press the power button nothing happens - no fan spin and nothing on the screen (tried HDMI and USB-C).
    • On the power button also the LED dosen't show any activity. The pads from the power button measure 5 and 3 volts.
    • I also tried to recover the BIOS with a .BIO file - also no success (since there's nothing on the screen).
    • Disconnecting the CMOS for an hour also make no difference
I was wondering if some has a board view of this model? Maybe this helps to trace the root cause.

Or down anyone else have a different idea?

    Cheers
    Kevin

My NUC8i5BEH recently died with the exact same symptoms. In the past 5 years there have always been periods where the system would just freeze and I had to hard reboot it using the power button (not sure of this was hardware or software related). But some periods it would run just fine. A few months ago when I had to regularly hard reboot it, I also had to take out the power cable for ~15 seconds, otherwise the power button wouldn't work. The recent months were without problems though. The day before it died I picked it up and blew out some dust through to the fan grills.

kevlin or jKZJUqwR did any of you figure out anything more?
