    Ms-6340 V.1 Help!

    Hello all,

I wonder if someone might be able to help me. I am having trouble with a motherboard and need to update the bios, unfortunately i cannot find the right version ANYWHERE on the web.

The board is a Microstar 6340 V.1, any ideas?

    Cheers,

    Crispy.

      Also check this one:

      http://www.msi.com.tw/program/suppor...UID=131&kind=1

Looks like it's the same file in either case.

Cheers for the help guys, my only concern is that the bios on both links is V.47, will that not cause me problems?

What version do you currently have installed? Does the board in the links look like yours?

            Re: Ms-6340 V.1 Help!

I've got an MS-6340 V.1 board. The general layout looks like the pictures in the manual everybody is linking to. But the connectors JFP1 (front panel) and JGS1 (suspend button) are different. In the manual we have, JFP1 is missing pins 3, 4, and 17. (Pins numbered like a ribbon cable, pin 1 closest to the center of the board.) On the V.1 board, only pin 14 is missing. The paint markings are ambiguous, but they don't match the manual at all. Apparently this connector was completely reworked between MS-6340 and MS-6340 V.1. I suspect the V.1 was a custom for gateway or dell or something, and they changed the connector to match gateway's/dell's case wiring harness.

That's why original poster isn't sure the manual he found matches the board he has. And it's one more reason to stick with generics and avoid the big consumer mail order brands.

              Microstar 486 motherboard repair
              by roadrash
Hi everyone, I wonder if you could help me with repairing a old 486 pc that this year started giving 3 beeps at startup. 3 beeps i understand is a ram error. I checked everything and was about to scrap it when I remember at one time its cmos battery leaked over the pcb. I was wondering if maybe there was still some acid under the ram slots so I took them off and I found a tiny bit and so far found one bad contact between a pcb track and a smd component. I also found smd components had fallen off. Trouble is they are missing but wonder could you tell me what they are. There are others on the board...

              Hello, you fine folks.

I've been hearing good things about the Bakon 950D (what a funny name!) soldering station with T12 tips (mistakenly labeled as T3 or T13, i see), so I thought i'd order one and a set of various tips.

The station arrived a couple weeks ago and I was pretty impressed with it, but I wondered if it could do just a little bit better. The replacement tips have arrived last week, just need to pick the package up. Anyway, on to the bacon (pun intended)!

I have noticed that it is usually labeled as 75W. Well, mine is labeled as 50W, so I...

Ampower K02P133.01 TV Power Supply With Crispy Diodes and Mosfet
              by RukyCon
So i got this power supply from a Samsung TV i'm fixing and it appears the issue with it is the power supply due to it having at least 5 blown parts (maybe more) and a few blown PCB traces.
Here is the list of all of the blown parts PCB numbers...
              QI831 (unknown)
              DI819 (ER206)
              DI821 (need to check)
              R839 (SMD) (unknown)
              Q826 (SMD) (unknown)

Q1832 might also be blown, it's part number is K3115
I also posted photos of the damage so people can tell me if it's worth fixing.
              Thanks....

Zotac 1070 8gb Mini Help Info
              by wreckless__
looking for schematic/board view for Zotac 1070 mini, 8GB...

also.. if someone could post here the most clear photos
that i can zoom in on of the front and the back of the Zotac 1070 mini..
that is what i really need.... but a board view would be helpful...
On the contrary.. really clear crisp pictures of the back and front of the ZOTAC 1070 mini..
that is what would help the most for me in my case...

i had removed a few resistors from it to use on another GPU.. but i seem to have forgotten the locations of where i took them off...

              MS 6340 - Hissing
              by alk
First let me give you the specs of this system:

MS 6340 - Mini ATX motherboard
              Athlon 1GHz TBird
              384MB RAM
              nVidia TNT2 RIVA 32MB
              235W HIPRO power supply

Problems began a few months back whilst playing a fairly inensive game for the specs of this system - Day of defeat (Half life mod). The system suddenly rebooted, and since then has been unable to boot up without freezing for any more than 10 minutes.

I've stripped the system down to ram, cpu, and gfx and booted into bios and left it there to see if it freezes, and it does....
