    Radeon 9000 with Licon

Got a comp with video issues....the Radeon 9000 card has 5 Licon 10v 470uF caps on it.

There are no visible signs of failure....but we all know what Licon is. Any cap from a company too crappy to have a website just begs to face my desoldering iron.

I'll let y'all know if repairs are successful.

VRAM is good...it was bad caps.

    Video corruption issues are gone.

I don't know why, but this suddenly reminded me of a old thread on extreme overclockers where a guy was talking about the bad caps on his motherboard, GSC. So he replaced them. Someone asked him with what. Why, GSC he said.

          I used Nichicon HM...2009 week 45.

Not the most optimal replacement, but its going in a used comp I have for sale. Im not wasting my polys on a 6 year old AGP card. It doesnt run very hot so it should last *well* beyond my warranty.
