by BloodhoundjeHi everyone,
I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.
I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.
After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.
I have desoldered the bios chip (GigaDevice...-

by grimacelordHello,
I have spent the last hour on this and I guess this is just over my head, so here I am.
I have an ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI motherboard here that needs to have the BIOS updated in order to accept the latest CPUs.
The BIOS chips seem to come as a set of two: GD25B64ESIG and GD25B128ESIG. My guess is one of them is a fail-safe for the main BIOS? I really don't know. Or one of them is ME and other is BIOS? I don't know.
Anyway, I took dumps of both chips and then downloaded the latest update for this motherboard from ASUS's website...-

by macabookHello everyone,
I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
🧩 Initial Issue- Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
- External display (HDMI) shows

by vatecnicaHello friends, I have a motherboard from a client who wanted to do something to the BIOS and left it blank. The motherboard turns on but does nothing at all! I need someone to help me and provide me with the BIOS for this motherboard because I can't use Flashback, and I don't know how to cut the BIOS from the page so that it works. It's AMD, not the Intel version, so these BIOSes should be easier since you don't need to clean the ME region, as far as I understand!
It has a white label with this code, which I think is the one! SN LCM0FM116631A82
Thank you all very...-

by Grucha98Hi I'm working on that asrock motherboard. It had shoted mosfet on cpu phase(changed) and 1 cap on bottom side(changed). Led driver is probably shotted too because voltage on one leg of this chip is 0.5v to 5v (its in loop rising and falling) its's RT7905 and i cant find datasheet :/ But its only led driver so mb should work without it. When i desolder it on the same leg is 5v all the time.
If i start mb on all cpu phases is 1v1 for a few seconds only. Other voltage are present. So i tried to flash bios with the newest on official site and it doesnt help. Its not normal extension... - Loading...
