    Troubleshooting XFX RX560

So I got my hands on a broken RX560.

After measuring the basic resistances and voltages everything appears to be fine, the core itself also heats up and the pc boots up (beep is there, on igpu mode everything runs fine).
But I just do not get any display output. After looking and touching around a bit I recognized the VRM controller chip (ON NCP81022) and the corresponding low side MOSFETs for the Vcore (uPI M3098M) get very hot to the touch.

Now I dont have the time anymore to check for any short circuits by injecting voltage in the circuit and checking if anything is not right so I thought I might just ask here for any ideas or information.

I measured 0.9V for the memory controller voltage but that appears to match with the coil which provides the voltage directly to the memory modules.
For the core I got 0.8V and I am not certain if that is an expected value or a rather low one.

I would appreciate any insight or ideas what might be wrong with my card.

practical courses for troubleshooting pc motherboards
    by blues_spirit
    Hello from France,
mon2 kindly advised me to post a thread to ask the question(s) I'm concerned about. I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for practical courses for troubleshooting pc motherboards especially laptops in Europe, if possible in France. I have been a computer network system administrator and a corrector of administration modules for automated programs under Unix. But I really miss the practical "ops" side of troubleshooting. So I would like to start from the beginning: 1.8V, 3.3V, 5V and 19V tests for example, etc...
Do you think this is feasible for me? I...

HP Elitebook 840 G5 strange behaviour, need ideas...
    by Stefan Steff
I finished my work for this year, so I'm free until January 6th.
My last task it's unresolved and I'm looking for ideas for the return in January.

    So what's about...
This laptop is booting in 3-4 seconds has no password and every voltage is present. So far so good.
My problem is that it doesn't boot from anything. !...just stays with a blank screen(backlight only)
No USB boot (in fact partially no boot...), no PXE boot nor boot from M2.SATA or NVME...crazy...
The Ventoy USB (EFI) boots in the menu system but after selecting one of the ISO (like a simple...

GV-N2060OC-6GD REV 2.0 GIGABYTE video card troubleshooting assistance needed.
    by gcrezz
The issue with this video card is the HDMI port. Specifically on pin 19 (Diode checks on all other pins are normal). When i do a diode check on it from the pin on the board itself, I have nothing. There is also no short on the pin. Resistance reads about 200k. Normally on any HDMI pin 19 I would expect some voltage drop anywhere from .5v to 1.2v but here, I have nothing. The card is operational and can be used via the displayPort ports, but not through the HDMI. Attached you will find the pdf schematics for the card on page 22. I have verified that all of the resistors on this line before the...

Looking for assistance troubleshooting a Panasonic TC-P65ZT60 with 3 LED Fast Blinks
    by CrewmanRedShirt
    Hello all,
As the title states, I followed the troubleshooting guide located here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/23...page=53#manual, which concluded the 'A' board needs to be replaced. Looking around the net and eBay, I see that there are repair services for the board (TNPH1043UE? Not sure if it is a 'UE' as the suffix grid does not appear marked). What additional troubleshooting can be performed to ensure 1) this board is the problem and 2) since there are repair services, what are they fixing on the board?) I expected 3.3V not to be available anywhere...

Troubleshooting Old Chiefmax 650Watt ATX Switching Power Supply
    by Zippie
I’m looking for some advice troubleshooting an old Chiefmax 650w power supply in a PC, if it’s advisable to dig into it.

Worst case I can replace the PSU, I’m just interested in learning the troubleshooting process. However, it’s out of my area of expertise and I could use some direction.

During PC operation I heard a loud pop noise, like a cap gun and the tower lost power.

Initially there is no power output 3.3v, 5v, or 12v when jumping the power on pin to ground. Also, no fan power.

Opening the PSU the only things visible initially...
