My old reliable BH6 has finally bit the dust, but I'm looking to try and fix it. I'm unsure what exactly happened though. I had been running a Coppermine Celeron 1100@1232, which probably over taxed the poor thing. The damage done is extensive. Both VRM MOSFETS are cracked wide open, the wirewound filter at L11 is burned beyond recognition, a diode at D1 was completely blown off the board, and 4 filter caps are popped.
So, I'm looking at a recap, an unknown diode, tracking down replacements for obsolete MOSFETS, and hoping that the MOSFET driver is not toasted in the process. As far as I can tell, everything else on the board is ok.
Right now, it has Phllips PHP45N03LT, would Vishay/Siliconix SUB70N03-09BP be an appropriate replacement? The Vishay MOSFET has a lower RDS/On, higher current rating, but I'm unsure if the capacitance is appropriate (driver chip is a CS5165) for the application.
The only thing left of the diode is one lead that's still soldered to the board. Anyone have a suggestion for a replacement? Also, is the toasted wirewound filter at L11 going to be a problem?
