    MLCCs - Alternative cap choices for old computers.

    Hello. I'm after some advice on whether replacing some electrolytics on a couple of old computers with MLCCs in certain places is a reasonable plan. Here are the situations -

    1. Commodore Amiga A600. Audio output coupling caps are 22uF 25V SMD polarised electrolytics. However, the audio output is a bipolar signal, (so I'm told, I haven't checked yet). Lots of people are replacing them with film types and such. But I hate to put leaded components on SMD pads plus they are bulky and located in awkward spot. Any reason not to choose something like these MLCCs assuming I can find one a decent size for the pads? -

    2. Macintosh Plus. Axial electrolytics on analog board and logic board. There are about a dozen on these boards, various values. Trouble is the only high temp axial electrolytics I could get at mouser were some Vishay ones costing ~5 times radials or low temps. Axial MLCCs don't seem to reach up to the 22uF 33uF values I need and are also only 85 degree parts. Any alternative suggestions, do I just have to go with low temp parts or spend the money?

      Hi, Recently my Samsung 4K QE55Q60AAUXXH just suddenly stopped working_ there is no any sign of life - no red light or anything..and think, after diagnostic, it is diode DM863c SF28e PK33 siyu or one of these four. Is there any alternative I can replace with since it is hard to find it in my country and to order outside is quite difficult. thank you...

      iPod nano G3 - alternative soldering point for the white battery wire

      Hi,

      A friend of mine gave me an iPod nano G3 to see if I can fix it for him.

      The device had a faulty battery and he tried to replace it but failed. In the process he managed to pull off the pads that corresponds to the white battery wire (marked with a red circle in the images)....from both sides of the PCB. Fortunetely he didn't damage anything else.
      This is usually an easy fix HOWEVER, on the PCB, I see no traces coming from the VIA and after searching the internet, I've found no schematics nor boardview for this device. With the pads gone from both sides I seem...

      Hi all,

      some days ago my induction hob have decided to die , finally I found which component result damanged, before buy a new one to be honest I prefer to check if exist an alternative component this why isn't very cheap and here i italy isn't commecialized.

      the orginal component is: rensans mofest RJH60T4

      I checked this one FGH40N60SMD, but I don't know if could be good or not, some one could help me to find a good alternative?
