    ASROCK K7VT4A PRO repair

    Hello!

I bought this board but isn't powering on. Seller told me it was fine and stable.
Got it for a dime but it supports NX models.
Ths cpu it came with works fine and the 2gb are error free (2x1gb).

I inspected the board many times and no component gets crazy hot, not even lukewarm; no traces are cut or damaged.
Battery is fine on its circuit.
The ASM1117 outputs 3.5V instead of the usual 3.3x I saw in many other boards.
    https://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datash...S/AMS1117.html
Could it be the problem or is it still within specs?

No shorts, not with gnd not between rails. ATX is all clear. Maybe I should check ohms too...

Has a 1.8V AGP 8x only slot, maybe it died because the seller tested a 3.3V gfx in it?

Thanks for any contribution, even just random ideas (you never know if crazy may help or not ).

    Re: ASROCK K7VT4A PRO repair

3.5V is as expected, circuit is correctly outputting V.

    It's 1.5V AGP, not 1.8. Typo

If it isn't another problem maybe it's the SIO.

      Any ideas are welcome.

KDL-60EX500. Comes on fine, sound is fine, backlights come on. Blank screen. Already tried reset POWER/VOL-. Anyone else have this problem? Possibly bad T-Con RUNTK4244ZZ or panel? Could main or power supply cause this? There were 2 blown 560u 35v on power going to backlights but they were still working fine. Thanks for your help.

Dell ATX PSU won’t start, but forcing it works fine?
        by CapLeaker
Got a case of something new weird at work. There is an old 2nd gen Intel i3 in an old “Pizza box” shell that has a small form factor power supply. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures and model number off it.

Anyway, I get to work and get to look at this computer. Standby LED on the PSU is on, but the computer won't start. Hmm o.k. take the battery out of the main board try again, nothing. O.k. then… unplug the power supply from the main board and put in a full size ATX PSU (yeeeesss! Exact that blown Powerman IP that I fixed a while back), plug it in and the old...

RTX3090 working fine but fans not spinning
        by emil_t
Hello guys. I have a problem with a PNY XLR8 GAMING RTX3090 graphics card. The problem is that it displays and works fine, but the fans don't spin at all. The problem occurred when someone else removed the fans in order to clean it and broke one of the fan connectors. He replaced it himself and after that, it wasn't working anymore. I guess he damaged something else in the process. What i have done so far: I found 2 capacitors next to the connector that were in a bad shape, he must have touched them with his tools - they weren't shorted, but i replaced them with similar ones from a similar card....

ASRock N100M, no picture no boot, but semi-alive
        by Exim
        Hi guys,
I managed to semi-kill an ASRock N100M board after updating Bios from 1.10 to 2.01. It's a zombie now, dead, but not dead.

        ASRock N100M special features:
        - CPU soldered to board, small Intel 12th gen
        - iGPU
        - four POST LEDs

Problem after updating Bios to 2.01 using the in-Bios update tool: no picture, no boot.
I am not sure anymore if it booted at least once successfully after updating the bios to 2.01, maybe not, I can't remember. I think it did not.

        Symptoms:
        - no picture/signal on any of the display connectors,...

What IC does AsRock usually use to make the PWM signals for GPU fans ?
        by MasterCap
I have an AsRock Taichi 7900xtx, and the minimum fan speed is way too high at 1000rpm, and thats with it's Quiet BIOS switch on, and me setting the fan profile as low as it goes, while on.

Now 1 thing I could do is just make some circuit to put in between the fan the the GPU, and leave the fan on all the time, but anytime the GPU is sending the PWM for min speed, I'll just send something lower and quieter.

But does anyone know what how AsRock usually sends the PWM to the fans on GPUs and mobo's? Is it from the MCU that's often near the 12V inputs and fan jack ? Or is...
