    Asus B450M-K Dead! Please help

    Hi,

I have an Asus B450M-K motherboard that is not showing any sign of life. Im still learning to do component repairs and this is my first desktop board so any help is appreciated. I have everything connected outside of casing with no ram or cpu installed. Tried shorting pins on motherboard for power button and no life at all.

I tried to inject 1.2V through the 8-pin CPU connector but the board doesnt seem to be taking any voltage. what am i doing wrong?

Also just another question, is it possible for there to have been a power surge that caused the motherboard to fail but left the PSU in tact? or would the PSU have died also. thanks in advance.

have you tried to bridge the power supply green wire to black (gnd) wire to fire it up? if you are not knowing if the psu is the issue don“t touch the mainboard... try different psu first

Sorry my question regarding the PSU and a power surge was more of a curiosity. I am testing with a known working PSU so I know that isn’t the issue.

First u did not tell your problem. Second why does u inject voltages .
My question? It is a no display issue or no start up issue?
No display means cpu fan will spin and it does not display.
No start at all mean when u press start button, nothing happens.
Or after start, it stop and boot loop .
