Hi guys great forum, first time here.
Ok here's my story...I've got a mix of about 10 Viewsonic Vx922 and VX924
19" monitors with what all appear to have bad caps. The first one I started on is a Vx924. I replaced the bulging caps with Nichicon 470uf 25v type pw with no success so I went back and replaced the caps that wern't bulging (470 25v) and yippee it fired right up for about 2-3minutes and then the display started flashing it would have a picture for like 1 sec and be black for like 2-3 seconds. After visiting your wonderful forum I've read about the different types of caps and that low esr is preferable.
So here are my questions...
1st would the higher esr cap cause the display to flash?
2nd would the smaller capacitors on the p/s be the culprit?
3rd should i replace all the caps on the I think you call the inverter board?
Thanks for your time,
Rick
