Samsung 2232bw recaped and still nothing

    Hello

So I had recaped 5 pieces od 820uf to 1000uf on my lcd.

Before it was dead all the way but now i get the blue light on the on/off button but the button does not respond if I press on it. It just stays on and there is no picture.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    I see four possibilities.
    1. You forgot to hook something up
    2. You created a problem when you replaced the caps
    3. You used poor quality caps for the replacements
    4. Something died when you tried to use it with bad caps.

Notice the title of this site. Badcaps.net Forum. It's not Omniscient_genius.com or crystalball.org. You have to give us information if we are going to have a chance of helping you.

    1. Good quality pictures of the top and bottom of the power supply card. See my signature for a link on attaching them.

    2. Voltages out of the power supply.

    3. Brand and series of the caps you installed.

      Hello

      Sorry about the missing info.

So it is like this. As you can see on the photo I had recapped 5 pieces. And before there was not a sign of life at all but now the blue LED on the on/off button goes on and stays on when a plug it the ldc in. The button does not respond if I push it.

      I had instaled Jamicon 1000uf 25V 105 C.

The voltage on the conector that goes to the other circuit board is 13.8V. Is this good? What voltage should be on the other conectors?

      Thanks

Suggestion, It sounds like Mr. plainbill may be willing to help you but you're going to have to do what he asks. Use the macro mode of your camera and get good quality photos of front and back of all boards try to get the printing readable. Use some type of photo program to reduce the maximum dimension to 2000.That way someone may be able to tell you at what points to check voltages.

It depends on the monitor, but some logic boards will list the voltage right on the PCB.

Other typical voltages found are 3.3V, 5V, 12V, and 19V. A few pins might be GND.

The pictures are very good. Unfortunately, you may have missed a couple of important areas. First of all, what is the voltage between the two point I have marked in red as 'a' and 'b'? It should be 13.5 volts.

Second, recheck your connections, particularly the cable connecting to that connector. Also, make sure the cable from the switches on the front panel is properly seated at the logic card.

If you need additional help, I would like a picture of the upper left area of the bottom of this board - the area I have outlined in yellow and labeled 'A'.

Yes the voltage is corect, it is 13.7V and on my volt meter that is about 13.5V.

                  Should I measure anything else?

The logic card is the circuit board on witch you connect the DVI or VGA cable, yes?

More pictures tomorow when there will be sun light.

                        I have some more infomation.

I took out one cap from the three in a row, and nothing changed
I took out two caps from the three in a row, and nothing changed
I took out all three caps from the three in a row, and the voltage fell to about 4V and the blue led started to blink real fast (much faster then in the standby mode).

                        Hope it helps.

                          And one more question.

On this picture, must there be that voltage on that pin by witch it is writen?

Very good!!! I had requested a picture of the top of the logic board so I could identify test points. You have found them for me.

Yes, the indicated voltage should be present at those points. One or more of them missing could be the cause of the problem. Also, on the right side of the picture are points Key1 and Key2. The voltage at those points should change when you press a button on the front panel.

As you see on the picture, the 5V points are not good. One has 0.2V and the other 0.0V.

And yes, if press the on/off button there is a change of voltage on the pin Key 1 but on the pin key 2 it stays the same.

                              Any ideas what is wrong?

Most likely there is a bad voltage regulator. I will need a picture of the top of this card to identify them.

                                    Wow!! Fast and excellent quality.

I've identified the ICs I believe are responsible for various voltages. There are a number of things I would like you to check. Use the pad around the mounting screw hole in the lower right corner as ground for your meter.

                                    1. CN600 in lower right corner. What are the voltages on each pin? (Choose which end you want to start with and let me know).

                                    2. There seems to be 5V and an arrow pointing to the anode of D600. What are the voltages at each end?

                                    3. 5V? regulator in lower left corner. What are the voltages on each pin and the tab? The arrow pointing to the topmost pin indicates pin 1.

                                    4. 3.3V? regulator. What are the voltages on the three pins (I think the tab is connected to pin 2).

                                    5. IC201 (marked with Part#?) What is the part number?

                                    6. Connector marked Keys? What are the voltages on each pin? Do any of them change when you press the front panel buttons?

                                    7. 1.8V? regulator. What are the voltage on the pins?

                                    8. Check the cable from the keys connector to the front panel very carefully for any broken wires.

That is not good news. It's time to search for a service manual or schematic. I am afraid that the problem is the processor chip has died.
