    Viewsonic VE175 bad caps

Viewsonic VE175 17" LCD -- Backlight stays on only after it warms up, several power-cycles required to keep it on.

    Video PCB:
    3x Elite 470uf 25V (bulging)
    1x Elite 1,000uf 10V (bulging)
    1x Elite 330uf 16V
    7x Elite 10uf 16V
    2x Lelon 47uf 16V

    PSU:
    1x Elite 100uf 50V
    1x Elite 3,300uf 16V
    1x Lelon 1,000uf 16V
    1x Elite 100uf 400V

    Inverter (long, thin PCB):
    1x MKCON 150uf 30V

I was considering replacing every last cap knowing that they're all from bad brands to extend the LCD's lifespan. Before I pull the trigger on ordering the caps if there are any caps that are safe to leave (which I highly doubt) let me know. See ya!

You might be able to get away with leaving the big 400v cap, but to be safe I'd replace it anyway. Wouldn't want it to work for a few months and then pop the one cap you didn't replace. If you're ordering caps and going through a recap you might as well do them all.

Go to Digikey and order some Panasonic FCs in the values you need and you'll be back in business in no time.

Elite is known crap they are a replace on sight for me even if they haven't bulged. They were on my HP 1955 not bulged but I replaced them with FCs anyways. I've seen them fail on other boards too many times.
Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.

I agree. Recap entirely with FCs or FMs and you're set to go
