    Can LCD panel be replaced

    Hi all,
Just wondering can be LCD panel replaced with a panel that taken from different monitor but same size?
I can see its power plug is identically shaped and assume it takes +5V.
However I could not guess its data wire configuration. Old panel has a about 30 pin long parallel plug which about just 20 of them are accommodated with wire. And new panel's data plug is identically shaped to old but little short and has 20 pin wire.
Wire colours are completely different. So my confusion is here.
For further information I have attached data plug of old and new panel's pictures. Black one is old panel and white plug is replacement panel.
    Cheers
    All replies appreciated.

i wouldnt. the wires obviosly have different paths. with old laptop displays i would be able to do that because of the 20 pin connector, which is what you have and was standard.
