HI I have a lg-27ul550 monitor which has a strange issue - it flashes on then goes black - I cant seem to see an image on the screen with a flashlight. Occasionally it does work and during one of these times I put the brightness down and it ran fine for hours - I tried a factory reset and problem came back until I could get to the point where I could put the brightness down again. At one point I remove the power brick and ran it from my bench power supply and I noticed that it consumes nearly 3 amps with the brightness at about 80% - this is above the monitor specs which makes me think the the LED driver might be overloading at higher brightness and shutting down.
Anyone with any advise? The main board has product number EAX68943801 on it.

But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though.
