Hmm… 2 megaohm readings? That can’t be right. However the left 3 transformers measure higher than the 3 to the right.

Given this information and the premise that I likely don't have on hand those components and will have to buy them, does it make sense to just scrap this monitor? It's very old and I'm not particularly attached to it. It's also quite small and I can just buy a bigger used monitor for ~$50.

Finding the exact transformer is going to be very hard. Maybe you can find a used inverter board cheaper.

I think I saw one for $100. They're quite expensive simply due to being rare given how old the monitor is. I don't think it's worth it if that's my only practical solution. Thanks anyway.

Been there done that. These days you may be better off just to find a different used monitor. Heck, for $60 bucks I bought a 40” Sony TV 4K that was 3 years old!

Yep. Insignia goes for $65 for 24" and $80 for a 32". This is from Amazon with free delivery included. Then there's this if you want a monitor: https://www.amazon.com/KOORUI-Speake.../dp/B0C38FJ6HY

Unfortunately we are going to face the same fate with what the new president has said so I expect much higher prices and if get out of hand I will refuse to buy anything with tariffs or anything that is made in this country that is way overpriced because I think we will see very high inflation coming down the road

I was in the grocery store yesterday and the price of eggs have skyrocketed again in price again so I left just sitting where they were I can do without having them

Also in some stores now the cheapest price for chocolate candy is $3.99 and higher in some cases this is outrageous and out of control

If I see a much higher prices on EBay I will stop buying from there if I believe that tariff are being imposed on them just because

I feel you pain if you have to pay a tax for taking a sh*t now that is going to far

Agreed. Just our grocery prices are even higher than yours thanks to our Liberals putting this every year increasing carbon tax on fuel. Even on home heating! Ridiculous.

I don't even remember why I got it other than that it was cheap and had internal speakers. This brand was marketed towards the medical industry, not that I cared. The display was pretty good. I remember it had an unusually long warranty, either 3 years or 5 years. In the final year of warranty coverage it suffered a firmware corruption that caused it to be detected as totally different display, one with a lower max resolution. This, in additional to a couple of dead pixels (which on their own would not have been sufficient to trigger a warranty claim), enabled me to get the monitor replaced with a brand new one, and Planar even paid for both shipping charges. A bunch of years later the replacement monitor also crapped out (it's the one I started this thread about trying to fix it). I don't even know why I spent so much time trying to fix it to be honest. I have half a dozen spare monitors/TVs (people around here throw out perfectly functioning TVs and monitors), but I guess I thought this one would be a quick fix involving an obviously bad capacitor. Sadly I'd say only 20% of failures are obvious quick fixes where the problem is obvious and immediately detectable. Out of many attempts I've only been able to fix 1-2 displays, and one was a simple parts swap where I had two identical monitors: one with a shattered bezel and one with a damaged panel.
