are you able to turn it on and still get 2 sec. to black? or are you trying to find out if you blew anything else with the mistake?

Ok if you have an old type incandescent filament light bulb you coul build a dim lamp tester. The bulb is wired in series with the power supply and instead of blowing components the bulb lights brightly - if there is no short then the supply powers up as normal the bulb will light then dim as the board powers up. See here
        http://antiqueradio.org/dimbulb.htm
        - doesnt really need to be that complicated - use a 75 watt bulb if you have one.

If you cant do that then I would at least test the Bridge rectifier for shorts D801

no im still trying to figure out what caused the blown fuse! just blew another one just to test it, but this time the led turned red for a sec!

so my priority here is to fix my big mistake :/

my guess would be you probably took out a mosfet or 2.

i would also check those smaller diodes next to the transformer in the middle of the board. that area right there looks like it got hot at 1 time.

Sorry - dont know what that means - do you mean 8.2 on the meter, what does it say on the cap? I want you to test it in Ohms to see if it is shorted.

As regard the mosfets they dont stand up well to power surges and frequently fail short.
