    Hanns G HW173A Display fault

Hi, I am new at component repair but I do have basic soldering skills and tools. I would like to learn repair at component level and fix my 2nd display. It recently become faulty.

Maybe some one had same fault and knows already what's wrong or I would appreciate advice from more experienced people.

It looks like this - screen is unresponsive, moving content on display does not affect that broken picture.

well sometimes it works ... sometimes you turn and it is like that and suddenly boom and everything works, still no idea how it is triggered by heat maybe ? so maybe because of cold soldering and wear off ?

The problem is more likely on the T-CON board (long board on the back of the LCD panel) which is part of the LCD panel assembly. Just to be sure, there are two 3-pin voltage regulators on the main board (where the VGA connector is), you can check the voltages on all 3 pins when the monitor is working and when it is not. You can try heating up the board with hair dryer and cool it using canned air duster upside down fro cooling.
