My Samsung 244T won't turn on, what can I do?

My Samsung 244T monitor won't turn on at all. No light blinking after pressing the power button (the main switch was turned on at the back). I opened the case, noticed those capacitors with 1000uF 35V were rounded, so I get them all replaced including the 1000uF 25V one. But still no luck, still no light. I attached some pictures I took with those new capacitors I just replaced. Can any one advise what others which can be the highest failure rate I should look at?

    .

    Thanks!

Measure the voltages in the connectors that go to the logic board. Also, have you tested the fuse ?

Is there an easy way to measure the valtages you are referring here? Just use valtage meter or something?

Also, is the fuse showing in picture 3 the one you are mentioning? How to test it? Sorry for my dumb questions, I'm not that good in electric repairs.

Well, do you have a voltimeter or multimeter ?

With the set disconnected from the wall,

If it has a continuity test, select it, and use the test points of the multimeter in the
extremities of the fuse. It should indicate very low resistance.

There are some posts in the forum with good tutorials for using multimeters and such. If you don´t have much practice with this kind of tool, search for them and read a couple until you feel confident in your ability to perform the tests.

I would change all the smaller caps

I will try it. Thank you! By the way, I noticed some of the smaller caps were placed with certain angles, not straight. Is this on purpose? Should I do the same way when putting the replacement?

The angles won´t matter, as long as you can fit the covers back. Just be sure of the polarity ( that line alongside the caps, sometimes marked with a "-" sign ). The new caps should be soldered in the same orientation as the former ones.

Also, please post pictures from above, without the board being tilted, and also from the underside.

As you requested, here you have some tutorials on using a multimeter :

              http://www.ehow.com/how_2043011_use-multimeter.html

You can practive using the multimeter with small batteries, measuring the resistance ( continuity ) of pieces of wire, etc, to get you acquainted with the use of it.

Also, from this site, some excelent ones about testing the regulators and other causes of 2 seconds to black :

After you post the underside board pics, we can see it the voltage pinout is printed in it.
When measuring the voltages in the psu, disconnect it from those cables that go to the other boards.

Thanks for these useful links. By the way, I took several more pictures and attached(both front and back), any comments?

The pictures you posted of your Cap. replacements are really awful, unbelievable bad soldering. I hope they make good contact, and please be more gentle to the PCB.

Thanks for your advise! You are right, my soldering skill is terrible. However, I checked the connection, they are indeed connected. So, the issue here must be something else. Any other suggestions?
