    Dell 197FPf

Got this for $5. Guy said that it takes multiple tried to turn on. When I plugged it in it turned on by itself no problems. (i did not need to press power to turn on)...
But, the button doesn't make it turn off. The power buttons doesn't do anything.

I plan to take it apart and inspect for any loose connectors, bad caps, etc.

But... there are no screws how do I take it apart? Thanks!

    Hello,

I could be wrong but, I think this model Dell should have those tool inserts along the bottom of the monitor like alot of the other "E" series Dell monitors. Such as Dell E172FPb,,c,f,s. Maybe the grey plastic button inside the bezel is broken and that is why you can't turn it or of via the switch? Otherwise have fun with your $5 project!

    Take Care,

Well, I think he lied to me. It has some liquid damage on the inside where the little front panel circuit board is. And the plastic looks like it was pried open before. However, I don't care. Why? Because it works just fine! I don't care if I can't turn it off... as long as it just stays on. Lol! And it matches my Dell 22" perfectly. Side by side they look great!

Dell latitude e7470 not turn on .power buton on off and Run Power problem
            by masoksian
            Hi everyone,

I am dealing with the problem of turning on and off my Dell e7470 notebook.

The battery charge light is solid white, I press the button, the power indicator and the light on the button are solid for 1-2 seconds and immediately turn off.

The system does not turn on, there is no post.

I removed the RAMs and changed them, changed the battery, RTC battery, AC adapter, removed them and waited, tried again, it does not turn on.
The problem continues in the same way.
I tried to turn on the Fn key, nothing came to the screen....

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
            by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

            by Naineesh1
I just recieved a working laptop for a quick dc port swap, i tested the laptop on battery it worked, tested dc port issue felt loose, so disassembled the laptop and removed battery connector, swapped the dc port, re-connected the battery connector, inserted dc pin, white led glowed up - stable, pressed power switch, but it didn't turn on, no fan spin and no display. just 1 white led that glows up, doesn't move to orange (charging), i check voltage (battery : 11.37v) (dc input port : 19.3v)(bios : 1.75), i am stumped, there is no shorting on board.

Schematic diagram : bios chip volt...

            Dell inspiron 13 5000 - Doesn't turn on, overheating
            by Nagyesz
I have a Dell laptop with me, a DELL inspiron 13 5379. It doesn't turn on. After some investigation, I found that the charger is delivering 0-3V instead of 19.5V, and this voltage fluctuates constantly. Additionally, two ICs are overheating. I searched for these ICs, and it seems they are likely related to the issue of not having 19V.
Should I inject voltage somewhere, or should I replace the ICs right away?

So, PU4301 is overheating, and the surrounding area is hot, possibly just because of this IC.
