Samsung Syncmaster 2232bw. Is this repairable?

Hello,

I opened my Syncmaster 2232bw screen because of the known problem they have with the flickering screen.

I wanted to see If it was the three normal capacitors that are usually broken.
But when I opened it i saw a weird white thing all over them.

I am just wandering if it is till repairable.

The white stuff, if i understood you right, is glue. Its used to make sure they dont vibrate or sheer of. In other words its nothing to worry about. Just go without or use some hot glue or similar to replace with.

And yes its probably repairable. Tbh anything is repairable, its just a matter if the costs makes it viable to do so :P

what a relieve to know its just glue. So I see 5 caps with a not round upside. I just replace those?
How do you know what type they are?

1) Please do not post pictures inline. They slow down the loading process and for a number of other reasons that you can read below

2) Your pictures are horribly out of focus, but it looks like a lot of the caps are bloated.

3) Capacitors die from age, heat, and shoddy build quality. Capacitors DO NOT have to be visibly bloated in order to bad. They can be out of tolerance uF (a 1000uF measures 20uF) and/or have high ESR (ohm). A multimeter will be insufficient to test for ESR. For that you need an ESR tester which costs between $50 and $300.

Most members here will recommend that you replace ALL electrolytic capacitors, except the largest one which rarely, but not never, fails with reputable brands from reputable sellers. Brands like Rubycon, Panasonic, and United Chemicon are suggested. A list of recommended caps can be found at

thx for the help. I will read all of these things and go to the store tomorrow. If they cant help my I will order them off the site.
