It is flux residue. I was told this was refurbished unit.

Okay, these readings make more sense and correspond with the datasheet. The voltage regulator is good.

The main Novatek chip looks like it has some left over flux residue. If it is not flux residue, then the chip doesn't look too healthy.

I normally use a ground screw for my black probe (for ground). I suggest you do the same.

Use a ground screw on the logic board and retest all 3 pins and repost.

ah my mistake. Using the middle pin for the black probe I am getting 3.3 from the left one and 1.8 from the right.

Please list the voltages on all pins of 1084-33.

    The datasheet at

    http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datashe...-33ZC-TUL.html

says the middle pin is Vout and pin 3 is Vin.

If you are truly getting 5.5V DC on Vout, then the regulator itself should be replaced.

On the logic board there is a voltage regulator 1084-33 (I301). Verify that you are getting 3.3V DC output.

The mosfets tested good. The 24v pins were reading at ~1.3v all others were 0. on the output on the left hand side the 5vsb was reading at ~5v and the 24v was ~1.3. I think the issue is in the logic board.

Also, a lot of the larger screens seem to have probems with the inverter. Since the power supply has been replaced, try checking the fuse on the inverter. It's below the power connector and marked 10A/125V. If it's bad, try checking the 4 mosfets in the upper right of the inverter marked QXX (can't read it off the photo) for shorts. They are the 3-legged devices with the middle leg cut off.

On the power board, the lower right hand corner has a legend that says OUTPUT 24V and 16V. These are your secondary voltages.

With respect to ground, measure the DC voltage of each connector pin (be careful not to short out the pins), and report the voltages for each pin.

If all the voltages are 0V DC, then check the DC voltage across the largest capacitor (450V 180uF). Careful, this is high voltage. It should be around 165V DC if you are in North America.

Camera is charging now, I'll post some pics as soon as I can. I do have a multimeter .. its kind of a crappy radio shack one though. There are some suspect soldier joints on logic board howeever i dont see anything that would constitute bad caps.

Also, you will need a multimeter to do some troubleshooting on this unit.

Please post some clear focused photos of the power and logic board using the "manage attachments" button. Difficult to suggest tests if we can't see what you're seeing.

started a topic HP lp3065 repair or part source.

HP lp3065 repair or part source.

I have a lp3065c hp p/n EZ320A which is not turning on. I have already replaced the power supply so I know its not that. I do not get any lights when its plugged in or if I hit the power button. One interesting thing though if I leave a usb thumb drive in the hub then plug it the power i get the drive access light for half a second on the thumb drive.

At this point I am thinking it is the lcd logic board. I have tried in vain to get an official part number from hp but it is not available on part surfer or from their tech support. I did search ebay and google for every number that was on the logic board but no luck. I was only able to find the part on this site http://www.shopjimmy.com/tvs/5057767-7330-vga-input.htm but they are out of stock. Again searching for that part number yields no results.

Does anyone know how to locate the official hp part number for this part or to repair it.

Finding the wrong part at a loooong led strip, part works fine, part flickers, all parallel...
    by edugimeno
    Hi There!
I'm trying to help my friend who owns a restaurant be just bought.
He has a very long LED strip running along all the walls and columns. The strip is attached facing down 2in above the floor, using a wall panel that ends in a metal rail that finishes the panel underneath
It's stuck using, I guess, the 2 sided tape that comes with the strip
The issue is that like 1/2 of the full length, including 1/2 one wall, another entire wall, and one column, flickers after 4 or 5 minutes ON. Particularly it flashes staying OFF most of the time and flashing ON for 1 tenth...

So My iPad was not charging and booting up . i went to a local technician and he checked with thermal and this Part marked in 1st Photo is Short.
So then i went on to boardview and downloaded the schematics and identified this part in 2nd Photo. Now i am confused what exactly is the part called ? where should i get this from ?

i contacted my technician and he sent me his BoardVIew screenshot in 3rd Photo. In his Boardview the part is called X2826.... Something

SO My main concern is what part should i order what should i search the name for ?

Asus X532FL 3.2V at source and gate
    by Lvsitano
I am having some trouble with troubleshooting a Asus X532FL rev 2.0 motherboard, which does not power on. So at the first MOSFET, I am getting 19V at the drain, and then 3.2V on both gate and source (compared with ground). Of course, the 2nd MOSFET's source will have 3.2v at source.

    First MOSFET is a QM3056M6 and 2nd MOSFET is a QM0930M3

I already checked first MOSFET and source and gate are not shorted (drain with source not shorted either). Also I have 1.7V at the LDO rail (measured at the keyboard connector, as the power button is on the keyboard).

    First...

Panasonic part number in service manuals
    by Yanleb
In the Panasonic service manuals, both in the board schematics and in the part listing, the part numbers that are given are Panasonic part numbers instead of the actual part numbers.

This is especially annoying for small SMD components like diodes and transistors when you only have 1-3 digits printed on the component body.

For an example, look at the attached PDF.

Do you have a way to cross reference the Panasonic part number with the actual part number?

    Thanks....

Trouble to identify part (Lunii screen) for replacement
    by FreakyMex
Hello guys. I'm a complete noob in electronics. I'd like to repair my child Lunii's (a "story box"), basically an audio player that allows the childs to choose between several options the places, characters, objects of the story, and then play a story according to the choice of the child. There is a screen that display the selected option before each choice. The Lunii fell and the screen is now broken.
I'd like to repair it (probably just have to change the part, because the lunii still works perfectly fine) but I can't manage to identify the part/order it online. Do you have any...
