Samsung Syncmaster 223bw, multiple attempts to start backlight.

Ok so basically about a week ago, my monitors backlight started flickering for a few seconds when i first turned it on. This then turned into it flickering and failing to start up which then turned to turning on and failing aftre a couple of seconds before after about 4-5 attempts turning on and staying on. Then finally this morning it took about 2-3 minutes to get it to turn on and it made a few quiet sounds while doing so.

I won't be able to test any parts until I'm back home on the 9th April but hopefully with your assistance i can diagnose and possibly even order some parts for when i get home.

    (I'm situated in the UK)

So is anyone able to identify the fault or do you need to me to check anything?

    Thanks

      So according to
      https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...ghlight=223bw#
I'll need to open it up and identify the offending capcitors via them bulging or having stuff seeping out of them. I think.

      Thanks

open it up and do a roundhouse kick.. replace all the caps except the big 400-450V one with new low-esr ones as discussed in the 225BW thread.

these monitors (223BW-226BW) are pretty much identical on the inside apart from some revision changes..
