Daytek F19AH 2 seconds to black.

Last one on the freebie pile.

Seemed easy to disassemble, probably 'cause someone's been in here before.

Not much fun to get the boards out lotsa cables.

Visual inspection looks good. Caps look good, board is really clean, no heat marks and no signs of anything but factory solder.

Tried my 2 known good bulbs on one side, they light, 2 seconds to black.
    Other side, they barely light.
Odd -- they glow at the end, get to about 2 inches, then go black. No arcing sparking or hissing.

It has one of those dual transformers on one core. Primaries both measure about 1.2 ohms.
    1 secondary is 785 ohms other is 164 in-circuit.

Guess I'm looking for another transformer.
36 Monitors, 3 TVs, 4 Laptops, 1 motherboard, 1 Printer, 1 iMac, 2 hard drive docks and one IP Phone repaired so far....

I'll remove it and measure out of circuit, but it's unlikely that anything else would cause the different readings.

That part number looks like it matches this picture

        https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...6&d=1274202051

        at the other F19AH thread.

I agree that it is likely bad "in circuit".

Getting the exact part might be hard. This Pegger couldn't find one

        http://winnipeg.canadianlisted.com/c...nt_330994.html

You might want to try an "equivalent" transformer that has 785 ohms for a reading? Look at

        http://lcdparts.net/T.aspx

and see which one matches. Then search on ebay.ca for a possibly lower cost?

Yes looks like the same part. I'll have a look at that site and find something close, unless one of my broken panel parts donors has one (unlikely)

Had an Acer 1916 laying around that has a bad panel component. It's inverter transfomer is the same size/layout, but measures 900 ohms on the secondaries.
Wonder if I should try it...

If you do try, use the CCFL's from the acer in case the transformer shorts and causes a voltage spike......

Dell u2311h 20000 seconds to black issue
                by ChIck3n
So I've had this monitor for probably a decade now, and it's finally starting to fail. Began with a little sporadic flickering, then eventually started going black (power LED stays blue, can still see image on screen with flashlight). A power on/off fixes it for a bit, but then it happens again. Once it got to the point I was dealing with this every few minutes, I opened it up and just replaced all the caps (minus the big one) on the power board with new Panasonic ones. All the old caps tested fine on an ESR meter, and this worked for 5 days. But the screen just went black again today, so...

LG 37LG5020 and the tale of 2 seconds to black.
                by DrankinSAW
I bought an LG 37LG5020 with a very strange issue.. it turns on, the display looks fine, but still, after 2 seconds, the TV shuts the backlight off..

However, if i leave it plugged in for 20-40min.. the time it takes to shutdown the backlight, doubles (to 4 seconds)..

I bought a new inverter, set to arrive on December 13th
