    Samsung VP203b

I have a Samsung VP203b that quit working. There was an orange light, but no picture, no green power light.

I pulled it apart and found a 150 uF 400V Taicon capacitor was bulging on the power supply board.

Does anyone have suggestions for where I can find a replacement cap? I can find them, but the best-rated one I can find is only rated for 2000 hours. Will this be good enough? It doesn't seem like very many hours to me.

I believe 2000 hours is when it is running at 105C. For every 10C increase, the life the cap decreases by 1/2. Conversely, for every 10C decrease, the life of the cap increases by 2x.

At digikey.com, there are a number of good cap manufacturers like United Chemicon, and Panasonic.
