Samsung 931BW - capxon capacitors popped

Hello from Norway to the electronic experts,

I am new to the recap art, and electronic in general, but nonetheless willing to learn and try to replace a couple of CapXon c716 from a Samsung lcd computer display. Problem is buying a replacement is like taking a trip to uncharted jungle for me, could you please help me make a wise choice ?

The original parts are capxon c716, 1000µf, 10V, GL105°, height ±16mm, diameter 10mm, Radial Leaded mount type. I attached pictures of the faulty caps in place.

Online shop I am currently looking at is http://no.farnell.com , but I am open to any suggestion (remember I live in Norway). Is any of those two models suitable or am I completely off-tracks ?

As a side question, while I am at it would it be a good idea to replace all the other capxon capacitors from this screen with a better option ? Are they likely to go "pop" like the two c716 ?

Thanks a lot for your help

The rubycon zlh you saw is a very good choice. However, Capxon is a known very poor brand. Therefore, you should replace ALL the capxons except for the large main filter capacitor, which rarely fails. It won't cost you that much more and will save you from having to open up your monitor again.

Thanks for the confirmation, from the reading I have made so far on badcaps.net I was under the impression that Capxon is serious crap. Samsung should think less about cost-killing and a bit more about it's customers...

I will get back to you when the work is done, hope my first time won't turn into a disaster.

The Nichicon HD is rated better than the ZLH.

On those pages, in the sidebar, there is a Panasonic FM cap. It is 8mm x 20mm. Do you have 20mm of clearance? If so, the Panasonic is the best choice and also the cheapest.

List all the caps except the large mains cap as you did in your first post. Let's see what we can find that will work.

Thanks for your welcome and answer, I guess 20mm would be ok since one nearby capacitor is a 20mm, I will have to reassemble the screen to be certain. I haven't placed my order yet, if there is enough room I will give Panasonic a try, anyway it seems I can't do worse than the original capxon !
