    Fender passport 300 pro

Just had this one on the bench which was blowing mains fuses. Couldn't find any tech info on line for this model so I was hoping it was going to be something simple on the mains side.

Opening up showed a blow out on the two varistors which were connected across the two main caps and had gone s/cct. Luckily there was only cosmetic damage to the top of the board and none underneath, which was a relief.

Replacement and firing up with a bulb in series with the mains showed everything to be OK. Full mains power, and we were back in business.

A quick check around showed all the caps to be looking good and as everything appeared to be OK I didn't venture further. Getting to the amp section would have been a nightmare so I'm glad it all worked.

Bad mains power causing TV malfunctions?
    by chopduel
    Hi,
I've been living in the same apartment for about 5 years now, and moved into it with my old Samsung plasma TV (PS51F5500).
Ever since we've moved in, we would sometimes see strange power-cycling behavior. For example:
    • TV would randomly turn off then back on.
    • TV would turn off and the LED light would blink for a while (over a minute sometimes) until eventually it went back to a regular off state and could be turned on
    • Sometimes it would require disconnecting the mains cord from the TV, waiting several minutes, then putting it back in and turning the TV back on. This had limited

Philips 58PUS7805/12 showed no picture; after T-Con replacement, shows halo
    by Rauni
Hello, this is my first post on this forum, and my first attempted to repair a TV.

My Philips 58PUS7805/12 stopped working recently. It is not that old, about 5 years. We were on a trip for a few days and when we came back, it had stopped working out of a blue (Perhaps our house was hit by a lightning strike? Don't know.)

Read from a guide that I should test if the screen shows picture with one of the T-Con cables disconnected. Did that, it showed perfect picture (first on left, later on right side).

Read also that we should test what happens if we...

WD MY PASSPORT 2TB WD20NMVW BOARDVIEW
    by acata
This might out of the topics but here I post on General electronic.

I've got client who broke his external HDD connector.
It's WD MY PASSPORT 2TB WD20NMVW with USB 3.0 connector. The connector pads tear apart.

I've been looking around for the diagram or schematics for this board. But have no luck. I don't have any membership on any storage device forums.

Would love if you can help me.....
