    Hills Prolink 1B TV distribution amplfier

    Today, I bought a Hills Prolink 1B TV distribution amplifier made in 1992 and when I was testing it, I got a lot of hum.
    So I decided to replace both electrolytic capacitors (the original 470uF/25V Samwha unit before the 12V regulator measured at about 49uF) with an upgrade of the 470uF/25V unit to a 2200uF/25V unit (it had a higher capacitance density than the original) along with the 10uF 35V low leakage unit on the 12V rail being replaced with a 22uF 16V tantalum unit.

    This fixed the problem and the amplifier still has a good noise figure.

    Could this unit have been in a hot area, such as in the roof space?
    Heat apparently causes MATV equipment to fail, especially those with switching power supplies.
    My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

      i have Lg AC indoor unit connected to heatpump warm water. To flow thru unit. I have it to heating up garage. I have previus old indoor ac unit. It was only connected to power supply and is was woking.

      Now i have new one which has a problem, it needs outdoor unit. It has error, 5 blinks which means that outdoor unit is not connected.

      how can i bypass this :/

      I need only to turn on and i need only fan to blow, and adjust speed od fan. To blow over a warm pipes....

      Repair of an LG split AC system indoor unit PCB

      I am trying to repair an LG split AC indoor unit, which does not start and gives a CH05 error code.
      This indicates an error in the communication between the outdoor and the indoor unit.
      The outdoor unit is fine, so the problem is the indoor PCB.
      The indoor unit is an LG PC09SQ NSJ (3SNM09JA2FA), and the PCB has the following type number: EAX35907219-1.2 (see photo1)
      I changed optocouplers ICO1X & ICO2X and the NPN transistor S9013 which drives optocoupler ICO2X (see photo2), but this did not remedy the fault.

      Does anybody have the schematics of this board,...

      I'm turning to the Badcaps community to help me troubleshoot the radio Rx card from my (old) garage door opener. While I could just ditch that card and replace the whole system, I first would like to understand "why" it suddenly stopped working, because that's just how I am wired...!

      I have finished my work. The new lights come on except the one for stereo, I reversed the bulbs to no affect, anyway, the unit powers on, relay clicks. I have no DC voltage in speaker outputs, I also do not have any AC in the speaker outputs. There is some faint crackling in the speaker. This unit cranks up loud so I had the volume on very low. Everything seems to be fine but I can't really check the switch until I can get sound out of the outputs. I was going to do caps for the power supplys and the tone board but thought if it was cranking loud at one time maybe just leave it alone until it...
